CALMOAA member 1st Lt Victor Prato USA Airborne wounded in neck @ Afghanistan 11/13/2017 and paralyzed below chest !

U.S. Army first lieutenant Victor Prato suffered a serious injury on Monday, Nov. 13, when his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. Three other U.S. soldiers were wounded.

According to former 82nd Airborne Division officer Zach Beecher, Prato was awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Action Badge.  He is currently being treated at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital, Tampa, FL. Prato is now in stable condition.  He is disabled below his chest.

Victor a First Lieutenant in the Army’s Engineering Branch was previously assigned to the 127th Brigade Engineering Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C.  He was deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of the International Security Assistance Force and Operation Enduring Freedom as part of nearly 11,000 U.S. troops there now.

 Victor was a Princeton graduate in 2015.  He is 25 Years old and a former Varsity Football Letterman and four year full Army ROTC Scholarship. He was a teammate of my son Captain Peter Yorck, Army Ranger.
