Recommendation for Legislative Action

Subject: California Injustice for the National Guard
Please read the story linked below - you will be as outraged about this as I am.
This can not be allowed to stand.
Without assigning any blame, this is clearly an injustice to the majority of California Guard members involved through no fault of their own.
Everyone needs to notify all of their elected officials at the federal level and the state level (congress, state legislators and Governor’s office) that whatever it takes, that any and all reenlistment bonuses and student loans be made legal and forgiven immediately.
More importantly, all money collected to date should be returned to the California National Guard soldiers who have paid them back.  These California  Guard members signed these reenlistments bonuses and student loans in good faith and should not be penalized because the California Guard didn’t know what it was doing.
I urge all of you to contact your local congressional representatives and state legislators and the Governor’s office and tell them to immediately take action to correct this horrible injustice and make our Guard members whole again.
Update – I have been in touch with both Veterans Affairs Committees at the Legislature and they are working on it as you get this.
