      Biography—James F. Linzey
         
      Chaplain (MAJOR) James F. Linzey, USA (Ret.), is chief editor of the Modern English Version Bible, the managing editor of the New Tyndale Version Bible, the general editor of The Military Bible by Military Chaplains, and general editor of The Presidents’ Bible. He served nearly twenty-four years in the US Armed Forces.

      Jim attended Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama, and the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He received advanced leadership education, qualifying him to write the book Moral Leadership.

      Military assignments over his twenty-four-year career include Command Chaplain, 5035th Garrison Support Unit, Fort Bliss, Texas, where he supervised the religious support program of the largest Mobilization and Demobilization mission in the United States. He served as Command Chaplain, Cluster III, Operation Noble Eagle II, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, under the Department of Homeland Security, in which he supervised the religious support program soldiers and airmen at 12 military installations in the southwest. He served as the Chaplain for the Officer Candidate School at Fort Mead, South Dakota. He served on the Leadership Panel at the United States Army Cadet Command’s Leader’s Training Course at Fort Knox, Kentucky, as its first full-time chaplain in history. And Jim conducted Joint-Military Leadership Training at the Armed Forces Staff College and aboard the USS Briscoe at Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Virginia.

      Jim attended the Billy Graham School of Evangelism in Ashville, North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanguard University of Southern California, Costa Mesa, California; a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California; and a Doctor of Divinity degree from Kingsway University and Theological Seminary, Des Moines, Iowa.

      Jim was on the national platform for National Bible Week in 2009 and 2010. He has travelled and ministered in crusades, seminars, and churches throughout North America, Mexico, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Pakistan, Singapore.  Media appearances include TBN, CBN, Daystar, Vision Channel, and NPR. Jim is the son of Verna M. Linzey, D.D., and Battle of Midway survivor Captain Stanford E. Linzey, Jr., CHC, USN (Ret.).
